Carrie Serna has joined the Center for Self-Growth and Renewal, PC as an independent provider. She comes to the Center as a knowledgeable professional who has 15 years of experience working with an adult population. She has extensive experience working in residential, hospital, and University settings, and for the last 9 years has worked at a Community Mental Health Center. Carrie completed her Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota in 2003. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor as well as a member of the American Counseling Association. Carrie has experience treating clients who are struggling with Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorder, Mood Disorders, Work and Relationship Concerns, Poor Self-Esteem, Stress, Grief and Loss, Borderline Personality Disorder, Crisis Intervention/Prevention, and Serious and Persistent Mental Illnesses.
She is trained and experienced in providing Group Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and EMDR. DBT teaches four skill sets: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance.
Carrie is a lifelong resident of Grand Forks and is married with two children. Her hobbies include photography, gardening, and enjoying time at the lake.
